Shipwreck Alley Boat Charter

Join Dive N’ Surf and Waterhorse Charters aboard the Orion for an exciting two-tank wreck diving adventure exploring two of San Diego’s most iconic artificial reefs in Shipwreck Alley.

This charter offers the opportunity to dive historic shipwrecks transformed into thriving marine habitats off the coast of Pacific Beach.

What Will I See?

HMCS Yukon

The HMCS Yukon, a 366-foot Canadian destroyer, was intentionally sunk in 2000 to create an artificial reef and world-class dive site. Resting in approximately 100 feet of water on her port side, the Yukon now supports abundant marine life and impressive wreck structure throughout the ship. A bridge collapse in 2021 created even more habitat for fish and marine growth, making this one of Southern California’s premier wreck dives.

El Rey

Originally a kelp harvesting vessel during California’s historic kelp industry, the El Rey was intentionally sunk in 1987 and has since become a vibrant artificial reef. The wreck is known for its colorful red gorgonians, large schools of barred sand bass, and excellent marine life activity across the deck and surrounding structure.

What Should I Expect?

This charter includes a two-tank guided dive experience aboard the Orion operated by Waterhorse Charters.

Trip Schedule

• Loading begins at 7:00 AM
• Mandatory dive briefing at 7:30 AM
• Departure at 8:00 AM sharp
• Return times vary based on conditions

If you miss the departure, you will not be permitted to dive.

Certification Requirements

Advanced Open Water certification is required for all divers joining this charter.

All divers must bring a valid certification card on the day of the trip.
